APPLICATIONS

Reconductoring & Uprating (HTLS, ACCC, ACSS)

Reconductoring and uprating are key strategies to increase line capacity without building new corridors. By replacing existing conductors with HTLS solutions such as ACCC or ACSS, utilities can significantly raise current-carrying capacity while keeping existing towers and rights-of-way. This approach reduces permitting effort, costs, and environmental impact.

However, uprating projects are technically demanding. Higher conductor weights, increased stringing tensions, tighter sag tolerances, and limited shutdown windows place exceptional demands on equipment and execution. Aging structures also require careful load management to stay within allowable limits.

This is where we support our customers. Our high-performance puller-tensioners, high-tensile pulling ropes, and application-specific stringing equipment provide precise tension control and high safety margins. They enable safe, efficient reconductoring and uprating—helping contractors fully realize the benefits of HTLS technologies without compromising reliability or safety.
