APPLICATIONS

Powerline Refurbishment

Powerline refurbishment relies on a range of proven techniques combined with new technologies. Common methods include reconductoring (replacing old conductors with higher-capacity or HTLS conductors), insulator replacement, tower strengthening or foundation repair, and hardware upgrades to improve safety and performance. Increasingly, refurbishment is carried out on existing corridors and, where required, under live-line conditions to minimize outages.

New technologies such as advanced composite or HTLS conductors, digital sag and tension monitoring, drones for inspection, and data-driven asset management allow utilities to extend line life while boosting capacity and resilience. At the same time, refurbishment projects face significant challenges: limited shutdown windows, difficult terrain, tight tolerances on aging structures, and stricter safety and environmental requirements.

This is where we support our customers. Our pulling and tensioning machines, modular systems, and high-quality materials are designed for precise control, reliability, and efficiency—helping contractors execute complex refurbishment projects safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to the grid.
