APPLICATIONS
OPGW Installations

OPGW installation combines powerline construction with the integration of optical fiber communication, making it a highly sensitive and precision-driven process. Alongside mechanical requirements similar to conductor stringing, OPGW demands strict control of tension, bending radius, and sag to protect the optical fibers from micro-bending or damage that could impair signal quality.
Typical challenges include limited allowable tensions, coordination between electrical and telecom requirements, and installation on live or existing lines during refurbishment projects. Weather conditions, long spans, and complex tower configurations further increase the technical demands.
This is where we support our customers. Our precisely controlled puller-tensioners, dedicated OPGW stringing blocks, and compatible pulling ropes are designed to handle the narrow operating windows of OPGW safely. They ensure smooth pay-out, accurate tension control, and reliable installation—protecting fiber integrity while maintaining efficient, on-schedule project execution.
Typical use:
Fiber-optic ground wire installation with precise tension control and cable protection.
