APPLICATIONS

Helicopter & Drone Stringing

Helicopter stringing is a highly efficient method for installing conductors and pilot ropes in HV and EHV powerline projects, especially in difficult or sensitive terrain. It is commonly used in mountainous regions, dense forests, river crossings, and environmentally protected areas where ground access is limited or disruptive. By lifting and placing ropes or conductors directly onto towers, helicopter stringing significantly reduces construction time and minimizes impact on the landscape.

Despite its advantages, helicopter stringing presents specific challenges: short weather windows, precise coordination between air and ground crews, strict safety requirements, and the need for absolute control during transition to ground-based stringing operations. Equipment reliability and smooth load transfer are critical.

This is where we support our customers. Our helicopter stringing blocks, headboards, pulling and tensioning machines, and accessories are designed for seamless integration with aerial operations—ensuring safe handover, controlled tensions, and efficient continuation of the stringing process on the ground.
